Caribbean

The winter season's centre of gravity, December to April.

The Caribbean charter season begins in mid-December and runs to late April. The two magnets are the British Virgin Islands, a chain of near-identical anchorages forty-five minutes apart that lets a Captain promise you a different beach every day, and the French island of St Barths, where the week between Christmas and New Year is the most expensive yachting week on Earth. South of that, the Grenadines offer quieter, more authentic cruising through Bequia, Mustique, Tobago Cays and Union. Caribbean charters are typically lower priced than Med equivalents of the same length, because most yachts reposition for the winter and need the bookings.

Frequently Asked

Caribbean, practical answers.

Christmas / New Year pricing, what to expect?
The festive weeks (22 Dec - 3 Jan) carry a premium of 25-40% over the rest of the winter season. Top-tier yachts are often locked by July for the following Christmas.
Are the Caribbean and Bahamas the same season?
They overlap but are operationally distinct. The Bahamas is a separate flag state and customs zone; we frequently pair a Bahamas week with a BVI week using an inter-island passage night.
Is St Barths worth the premium?
For the week around 31 December, yes, the concentration of yachts, restaurants and New Year fireworks is unmatched. For any other week, St Barths is a stop rather than a week-long destination.
Hurricane season, when to avoid?
Operational charter season is Dec to May. June to November we cruise only in the ABC islands (below the hurricane belt) or reposition yachts to the Med.
